The final outcome of this shoot is completely and utterly different from the original concept that stirred in my mind. For my final portfolios that will conclude my first semester here at SFAI, I wanted to challenge myself conceptually, as well as a photographer and an editor. Before shooting, my idea was to combine the human body form with the 4 natural elements (earth, wind, water, fire) through environmental settings, body placements, and photo manipulation. Turns out, capturing the movement of wind in this way is a lot harder than I had anticipated! After days of frustrating editing (and off a complete tangent) I gave my model multiple limbs and was satisfied with the result. I am still interested in shooting my original concept, but I am currently trying to find a way to mesh these two ideas together. Who knows, maybe I’ll give all my models multiple limbs…=P For now, I still don’t have a title for this image. Any suggestions?? Model: my beautiful co-worker, Lauren McGill Location: the breath-taking Sutro Bath Ruins, if you are ever in San Francisco I insist that you go! The use of fabric and movement was inspired by Brooke Shaden’s Expanding Lungs The post processing work was inspired by Miss Aniela’s Inceptipede **I plan to post outtakes soon**
